THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT –

 IN THE LIFE OF A BELIEVER

The Fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23)—represents the characteristics of a Spirit-filled life demonstrated by Jesus and cultivated by believers through the Holy Spirit’s work. Applying these fruits in daily life according to teachings like those of Jesus The Healer Filipino Church entails a holistic, practical, relational, and spiritual approach as follows:

  1. Cultivate a Close Relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit
  • Prayer and worship: Regularly pray and seek the guidance and empowerment of the Holy Spirit to manifest the fruit of the Spirit in your life.
  • Surrender and obedience: Choose daily to yield to the Spirit’s leading, turning away from fleshly desires (Galatians 5:16-25).
  • Bible study: Learn and meditate on Scripture, especially passages about the fruit of the Spirit and Christ’s example (John 15, Galatians 5).
  1. Demonstrate Love as the Foundation
  • Practice agape love—selfless, sacrificial, unconditional love toward others—mirroring Jesus’ love (John 13:34-35).
  • This involves forgiving, serving, and showing goodwill even when not “deserved.”
  1. Live Out Each Fruit Intentionally in Relationships and Daily Conduct
  • Joy: Rejoice in God’s presence and promises, regardless of circumstances, reflecting supernatural gladness (Philippians 4:4).
  • Peace: Maintain inner tranquility and reconcile conflicts through God’s peace (John 14:27).
  • Patience: Endure hardships and difficult people with grace, trusting God’s timing (Romans 12:12).
  • Kindness and Goodness: Actively seek to bless and do what is right for others, both in word and deed.
  • Faithfulness: Be dependable and loyal in your commitment to God and others.
  • Gentleness: Exhibit humility, forgiveness, and a soft spirit without weakness.
  • Self-Control: Discipline your thoughts, words, and actions under the Spirit’s power.
  1. Engage in Community and Service
  • Join a faith community (like Jesus The Healer Filipino Church) for accountability, mutual encouragement, and practical ministry.
  • Serve others lovingly and sacrificially, practicing the fruit in real-life situations: helping the needy, comforting the troubled, and being a witness through actions.
  1. Embrace Ongoing Growth and Transformation
  • Recognize the fruit develops over time as you grow spiritually (like fruit ripening on a tree).
  • Regularly self-examine your spirit and request God’s grace to remove hindrances such as selfishness, unforgiveness, or anger.
  • Allow trials and challenges to refine these qualities, trusting God’s sanctifying work.

Summary

The Jesus The Healer Filipino Church emphasizes applying the fruit of the Spirit through a heartfelt, Spirit-led life focused on loving God and others, cultivating godly character, and actively living out these traits in daily life and relational contexts. It is both a supernatural and practical journey—enabled by the Holy Spirit’s power and the believer’s faithful cooperation.

In brief:

  • Seek the Holy Spirit daily for empowerment.
  • Walk in obedience to Jesus’ teachings.
  • Love and serve others sacrificially.
  • Reflect each fruit consciously in attitudes and actions.
  • Grow progressively in spiritual maturity within community.

This approach aligns with biblical teaching and reflects the healing, transformative power Jesus imparts to His followers in the Filipino church context and beyond.

“BY WHOSE STRIPES YE WERE HEALED”

1 PETER 2:24 says,  “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”

Notice the past tense meaning of this verse “by whose stripes, ye were healed” – you are no longer waiting on God to heal you –  God had already atoned for it thru his sufferings on the cross!

Eph. 1:3 says “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: “

Healing is one of  the  spiritual blessing mentioned here among those given to man even before creation, and which Jesus bore in his body when He was crucified on the cross.

It is not a question of  will God heal us. That’s no brainer! If he loved us so much that He gave His only son for us, what else can he not also give us? “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32}

We are receiving the revelation clearly now that healing is not only a spiritual blessing for us believers, but that Jesus even fulfilled it physically when He bore it thru the lashes marked by stripes in his body on the tree!

By grace, independent of our participation by  good works God has already provided the power, he’s already done it, it’s already released to us;

Titus 2:11 says: “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men.” This means all people, believers or not  and it comes no with no other condition attached,  but to receive it.

LIKE SALVATION, HEALING IS GOD’S GRACE FREELY GIVEN TO MAN –  BUT MAN HAS TO REACH OUT FOR IT AND RECEIVE IT BY FAITH!

Contrary to what is commonly understood by so-called Christians, faith does not move God or make him do something. Faith only appropriates what God has already provided by grace.

IF GOD HADN’T ALREADY  PROVIDED IT, THEN YOU CANNOT MAKE HIM DO IT. FAITH DOESN”T MAKE GOD  DO ANYTHING.

GOD OF HIS OWN FREE WILL BY GRACE HAS ANTICIPATED ALREADY EVERY PROBLEM THAT YOU AND I WOULD EVER HAVE AND HE HAS ALREADY PROVIDED EVERYTHING THAT IT TAKES FOR YOU AND ME TO LIVE AN ABSOLUTELY  VICTORIOUS LIFE.

There are spiritual laws that we learn from the word of God which God himself respect and obey. We are expected by God to cooperate with them for some of them are subject to God’s fulfilling prophecy. Otherwise, we will face the natural consequences of the prophecy

 And there are physical laws that we naturally learn and others that we eventually know  while living in  this world. These laws we learn  to cooperate with for it is detrimental for us to oppose them, like the law of gravity and the law of inertia!

HOLINESS MEANS SEPARATED LIFE

(Preliminary Note: “Holy” correctly means ‘separated’ in American English, but in our ph language or Tagalog is translated as ‘banal’ and holiness means ‘kabanalan’

– that’s why there is need for further clarification.)

HOLINESS MEANS SEPARATED LIFE

 ‘Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.’

 (John 5:14)

 *Sin is a very deadly thing that even Christians should avoid at all costs,

*but it does not determine our standing with the Lord.

*When we obey sin, we yield ourselves to Satan, the author of that sin.

*Yielding to sin is yielding to Satan. (Romans 6:16)

*When a Christian sins and allows the devil opportunity to produce his death in his life, the way to stop it is to confess the sin, and God who is faithful and just, will take the forgiveness that is already present in our born again spirit and release it in our flesh. This removes Satan and his strongholds. (1 John 1:9)

*The sins of a Christian don’t make him a sinner any more than the righteous acts of a sinner make him righteous.

*As born again Christians, God does not impute to us the sin that we commit, but the devil does.  (1 John 3:9)

*Although God is not imputing our sins unto us, we cannot afford the luxury of sin, because it allows Satan to have access to us.

*Our actions either release the power of Satan or the power of God in us.

*Sin is a very deadly thing that even Christians should avoid at all costs,

*but it does not determine our standing with the Lord.

*A person who is born again is not ‘in’ the flesh even though he may walk ‘after’ the flesh. (Romans 8:1)  It’s the nature of a Christian to walk in the light and not in darkness. (Colosians 1:13)

*If Christians were rightly informed of who they are and what they have in Christ, holiness would just naturally flow out of them. It’s their new nature.

YES – – –  IT IS OUR NEW NATURE NOW. . . UNTIL FOREVER!

ALL PERSONS HAVE AN INTUITIVE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD

AND A NATURAL CONSCIOUSNESS OF RIGHT AND WRONG

(John 10:1-5)

1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. 4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. 5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

We are the sheep of God’s pasture! The Lord is our Shepherd, we shall not want; but sometimes we miss HIS calls and reminders! Because we are often plugged-in to the WORLD!

We know His voice, but when the world drowns out our conscience! Sorry na lang – The warning of God gets unheeded!

 In Deut.30:19 God told usI call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:”

Romans 2:1-15

1Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

  1. But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.

3And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

4Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

5But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

6Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

7To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

8But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

9Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

10But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

11For there is no respect of persons with God.

12For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

13(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

14For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

15Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

Romans 1:16 -17

16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

17For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Paul’s purpose in writing Romans 1:18-20 was to explain why the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16). The problem was that then, just as now, most people felt the way to get others to come to God was to condemn them and scare them out of hell. People doubted that Paul’s good news of the love of God would be enough to cause repentance.

Therefore, Paul began to prove that every person already has an instinctive knowledge of God’s wrath against their sin. We don’t need to prove God’s wrath; God has already done that. What people need to know is the good news that God placed His wrath for our sins upon His own Son so that we could be completely forgiven. This good news will draw people to God more than the bad news would ever drive people to God.

In the Old Testament, the scriptures proclaim that God has revealed Himself to everyone through nature (Psalms 19:1-3). The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. 2Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. 3There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

While in the New Testament, in Romans 1:18-20, Paul was declaring that God has revealed Himself to all mankind. So, Paul was stating that God Himself put an intuitive revelation of God within every person.

Here is the entire text of Romans 1:18-32:

18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

MAN IS WITHOUT EXCUSE – GOD IS NOT UNFAIR

The use of the word “understood” emphatically states that God gave man not only knowledge but also the understanding to use that knowledge.

Therefore, no one will be able to stand before God on the Day of Judgment and say, “God is not fair.” He has given all people who have ever lived, regardless of how remote or isolated they may have been, the opportunity to know Him. They are without excuse.
